Successful walking weekends
We have recently had two successful walking weekends with over 36 people completing the River Rance Challenges.
It was great to see so many old faces and many new ones to. They sure are great weekends and I always look forward to them.
As most of you are aware I'm one of the founder trustees of Help an African Schoolchild and as such look for fund-raising opportunities.

River Rance Cycle Challenge 15th - 19th Septemeber 2008
Well we were delighted when we were approached by Kevin Romeril and Denis Laisney who said they would like to organise with us a River Rance cycle challenge which would take place in September. We are now in the process of advertising this event and thought that some of you may be interested in participating. It will make a change from walking! I'm coming along with Kevin & Denis and hope that some of you will join us. It is a 5 day trip all inclusive ( boat fare, hotel accommodation, breakfasts and evening meals plus return rail fare from Redon) what is not included is midday lunches. It is 4 days easy cycling and a chance to meet other people and have some good fun along the way.

You can download a registration form here

Enjoy your walking
Kind Regards
Kevin

Registered walkers can check in any time between 8.00 and 9.00. It is a staggered start. Once you’ve checked in you can start walking!! Good Luck!

More information will be sent to you nearer the date, with your T-shirt if you have ordered one.. Enter your email address in the box to the right of this page to be kept up to date via email

This is a challenge for all the community! A challenge that should appeal to the very fit people; who have great endurance, down to the average walker who may see this as a personal walking challenge.

It is an INDIVIDUAL WALK – a challenge to every one in the community - 20 miles along the rugged North Coast of the island of Jersey, in the Channel Isles.

Please note: There is no run this year.

To complete this Charity Challenge will be a great personal achievement.

We hope to attract as many local people as possible, but also hope to attract people who visit our website and from our sister isle; Guernsey. If any web site visitors want to participate then please fill in the registration form. We will help you with accommodation (arrange a guest house or hotel for you, at your expense) but you will have to book your own flight!

This is our charity’s biggest fund raising event. The cost to enter the Challenge is £10 per person , this goes to provide water at watering stations and also a T-shirt as a memento of the event.

We hope that this is a great event and attracts many people. We need this fundraiser to get the funding for our Tetekela Day Care centre on a firmer footing, plus we want to add some classrooms to a school we built in 1996.

With your help we can achieve this. Have you got the determination to take on the challenge? Accept it and you will be helping others less fortunate than us.

In the local Bemba Language of Northern Zambia we say ‘Twatasha sana’ - thank you, in anticipation that you will accept the challenge. Things are there to be conquered - come and do it!
